When you create an account, we collect your email address and, if you sign in with Google or Apple, the basic profile information provided by those services (name and email).

Learning Data

We store your learning progress, including flashcard study history, story reading progress, saved vocabulary, and streak data. This data is associated with your account to enable cross-device syncing.

Usage Data

We may collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app experience, such as which features are most popular and general usage patterns. We do not track individual behavior for advertising purposes.

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. We use Row Level Security (RLS) policies to ensure you can only access your own data. All API communications are routed through server-side proxies — API keys are never exposed on the client.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Supabase — Authentication and data storage
RevenueCat — Subscription management
MyMemory Translation API — Word translations
Google Cloud TTS — Text-to-speech (via server proxy)
AI Providers — AI tutor features (via server proxy)

These services have their own privacy policies. We send only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.

Data Retention

We retain your account and learning data for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us.

Children's Privacy

Story Languages is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us immediately.

Your Rights

You have the right to:
